We take time in the 6 months in Guatemala to visit much of the country. The longest trip is a 4 day road trip to the Tikal Mayan ruins. On this trip we also go to Honduras and the Carribean. The Pacific is only an hour and a half away and the surfing is great. Students also enjoy some the caves that we explore in the interior mountains. One of them also has a jungle river with waterfalls that form pools tthat we swim in. We hike the active volcano Pacaya and the other volcanoes in the area are a favourite weekend hike. Of course Antigua itself is a world destination place and you will get to know it and its many cafes and courtyards.
